MISSION

The Michigan Chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) is a professional medical organization devoted to the enhancement of the practice of clinical endocrinology.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

§         Members of Michigan AACE are physicians with special education, training and interest in the practice of clinical endocrinology. These physicians devote a significant part of their career to the evaluation and management of patients with endocrine disease.

§         All members of AACE are physicians (M.D. or D.O.) and a majority is certified by Boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

§         Members of AACE are recognized clinicians, educators and scientists, many of whom are affiliated with medical schools and universities.

§         Members of AACE contribute on a regular and continuing basis to the scientific literature on endocrine diseases and conduct medical education programs on this subject.

§         The Michigan Chapter currently has over 140 members.

§         Dr. George Grunberger (who is on the Board of Directors of national AACE) is the Michigan Chapter Chairman

 

GOALS

§         To maintain a society of qualified medical, pediatric, reproductive and surgical endocrinologists who coordinate their efforts to further the practice of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

§         To utilize the highest standards of practice in endocrinology, providing education for endocrinologists, other physicians and patients to help achieve this goal.

§         To advocate the necessary changes to benefit patients and endocrinologists, and to keep abreast of important aspects of scientific, economic, social and political factors impacting the practice of clinical endocrinology.

§         To work with AACE and other professional organizations to enhance the field of endocrinology for the patient and physician.
